Print XCVII

The distribution of housing price inflation in Britain, 1987/1988.

Grey shades of a fixed equalized scale of housing price inflation from building society records in 10,444 wards on the equal population cartogram (Appendix D) software by author on an Archimedes computer.

This is the lightest image of all, prices appear to be sky-rocketing across almost the entire country. Liverpool and Glasgow have still not picked up, however; and an ominous coalescence of dark spots has appeared in the very centre of the capital.

Fifth print from a series of six.
