Pyramids are drawn, in each of the 633 mainland parliamentary constituencies, showing industrial structure on the equal population cartogram — software by author on an Archimedes computer.

The most distinctive feature is the city of London’s huge excess of jobs in finance other services — stretching right across the home counties as a result. Many other major city centre anomalies can be found, as can many local areas of high employment in a particular sector.
