Print CXVI

Migration flows between family practitioner areas of 1 in 2000 people.

Flows between 1975 and 1976 drawn between the 97 areas from the national information system, on an equal population cartogram software by author on an Archimedes computer.

At this level almost two thirds of migrants are represented and Scotland has joined in, interestingly linked more to London, than to its neighbours. A division can now be seen running across the country, separating the high propensity to migrate within the south, from the much more insular north. Cornwall and Devon are firmly connected to the south east.
