Daily commuting flows on an equal area projection by occupation, 1981 (Colour).

Lines drawn between 9,289 1981 census wards on an equal land area map, coloured according to the mix of occupations at the place of residence software by author on an Archimedes computer.

The bright blue of professional enclaves around London are particularly striking.
