Mortality MosaicsMeasuring and Mapping Mortality Patterns in Britain 1921-2005This page presents some resources from John Pritchard's MSc Dissertation, which built on work done by Danny Dorling and Eilidh Garrett. The work was supervised by Professor David Martin at the University of Southampton. The work calculated Standardised Mortality Ratios for 290 areas of Britain over a period of more than 80 years. The results are presented in an animation (second link below), both on a conventional map of Britain, and a cartogram, where each of the 290 areas has been turned into a circle.
